Obuda University has also joined the Responsible Space Sector Declaration
Our accession will greatly contribute to the realisation of Obuda University’s ambitions in the field of space research and space sustainability, and will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the benefit of society, said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of the University, at the signing of the agreement initiated by the European Space Agency (ESA) on 5 February. The aim of the cooperation is to lay the foundations for the sustainable development of the space sector and to increase the societal benefits of space activities.

We are proud that together with our researchers, we have maintained excellent relations with outstanding scientists such as Professor Antal Bejczy, whose pioneering work has contributed significantly to the development of space robotics and telerobotic systems, which have been fundamental to the success of Mars exploration, among others,” said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács. He added: “Thirteen years ago, in honour of his work, we established the iRobotics Centre, which bears his name, and last year, in recognition of the strategic importance of space research, we opened the Space Lab at Obuda University, where our researchers carry out outstanding work in the field of applied and theoretical space research, contributing to the realisation of the university’s strategic goals.
